The warm rust-red field with a touch of orange, shows offset large triple posy flowers with blue leaves in a textile pattern running out in all directions. Several blues including a crisp lighter blue. Plain rust-red outer border, flip-flop vine outer minor and Turkmen design main stripe. Khotan (Hotan) is a western Chinese (Xinjiang Province) oasis city and has been weaving rugs for two centuries with both allover and medallion patterns. Cotton foundation. Good condition.
