This is a well-woven sacatter from the vllagers in the Chahar Mahal district in central Persia. These rugs are often called Bakhtiari, although these latter weave mostly bags and not pile rugs. The navy ground is closely covered by tiny flowers and supports an ivory stepped and pendanted panel with a mobile palmette pattern. In the centre ius a semi-geometric palmette and straight vine medallion. Red border with two palmette types and orientations. Saturated colours with a good green and yellow. Good condition, eminently floorable.
