On a rich, saturated madder red field of this characteristic NW Persian village Heriz carpet, the four palmette octogramme medallion with a rust-rose sub-medallion, shows navy ragged palmette pendants and a close fill of stylized flowers and leaves. Stepped cream corners with semi-geometric stems, leaves and blossoms. Navy border with characteristic alternating rosette and doubly bent leaf pattern. Moderate weave. Cotton foundation. Good condition.
