A classic Kuba sumac-technique carpet with wool pattern wefts and a madder red ground displaying three reticulated dark blue flattened medallions, supported by eight yellow octagons and edged by “rocket ships”. Dark brown main border with zig-zag and filler triangle design. Kuba sumac carpets are the only Caucasian weaving regularly found in larger sizes. All wool construction. Reversible. An antique piece of the best, most available period. Good condition.
