The capital city of Tehran was active only in the Interwar period as a carpet-producing centre. We are fortunate to have a number of these rare and finely woven pieces in our collection. This cream ground piece shows a central axis composed of successive “trees of life", with more tress to each side, in full leaf and with perching bird pairs. Niche layout with light blue palmette and vinery spandrels. Red border with running animals and palmettes. Good condition.
