Clearly a special order from A Gilded Age mansion, this SE Persian city carpet on cotton shows an ecru field decorated with a semi-pictorial design including shrub, plants, trees, dwellings, and humans and animals in a directional layout. Accents in cochineal, royal blue, sand, straw, light brown. Palmette main border. The variety of trees and shrubs is exceptional. A carpet as big as all the Persian outdoors! The special structure of Kerman looms allows carpets of almost unlimited size to be woven. Fine weave, good condition.
