This antique Armenian SW Caucasian kellegi (long rug) shows  six fringed bug-like palmettes in straw,  teal and near black, In a unidirectional flow on a warm, otherwise plain,  madder field. Ecru border owes something to Talish rugs, with groupings of quincunx stars separating fringed diamonds. Inner and outer bitonal reciprocal crenellation borders. All wool construction, moderate weave. One end preserves original macramé braided finish. Authentic rug. Good and uncommon size.
