Looks faintly like a cross of a Tabriz and Heriz, but this rustic west Persian carpet shows an interesting tall navy medallion with wandering volute arabesque edhes and en suite volute escutcheon pendants. Sort red madder ground with floral motives in the Heriz manner. Cream corners centred by vases. Navy border with pointed meander. Well-woven on cotton. Around 1910. Heriz carpets of the period display the same arabesque volute medallion edges.
